had yourself a rainy little x'mas?
x'mas was a quiet affair this year, as is the typical case for someone like me who isn't christian or has a family that really celebrates it. but it's the most awww-warm-and-fuzzy festival there is around here, and all the well wishes from everyone saw to that. jack's 'podcast' was especially unforgettable. i sure hope everyone else enjoyed their x'mas as well.
i'm really glad the old buddy came over for x'mas eve, although i have to admit it makes me a bit embarassed that it was largely cuz i needed him to look at what was wrong with my pc. still we got to exchange gifts. and it's always good to see that a friend who has been overseas for quite a while is still well.
in fact my first new year resolution shall be to remember send snail mail x'mas cards next year, because nothing beats receiving one (thanks beng). i'm writing this down so anyone who reads this has circumstantial evidence to be used against me, in case i forget it next december (although there's also the wee possibility that i don't like you and hence didn't bother. kidding)
the next one shall be to try being a more punctual person (although i think i made this resolution like 2 years back as well). everyone who has hung out with me will know that i have a punctuality problem. think the jc people probably hate me already but are too polite to say so, cuz i made everyone wait for me for dinner on x'mas day and i didn't even turn up at yuankang's house for games before that.
but this was the reason i was late:
my precocious nephew (? - my cousin's son) came over with my eldest uncle and aunt, and grandma. so i spent my afternoon entertaining him, since my cousin now stays in australia and i hardly ever get to see him. seriously isn't he the most adorable thing? and he says funny stuff like how he has "teeny weeny friends" who are the size of ants. though it was kind of exhausting when he insisted i read "the happy prince" to him and then promptly lost interest after i finished 2 pages. but he is really fun to hang out with.
anyhow i really enjoyed dinner with the jc people at nam kee chicken rice which is along upper thomson road, very close to where i stay. we also had drinks at some tiny drinks outlet.
then today, i had a kenny rogers lunch with linus, shawn, gerard and alvin. we caught night at the museum at vivocity (even though i thought we were gonna catch curse of the golden flowers) it's simple family entertainment la. andy showed up with his girlfriend later on to confirm the big news - he has proposed. i could go on about how that makes me more aware of how old and unwanted i am, but that will have to wait for another post.
sorry to have bored the shit out of you. in the meantime, if i don't post in time again - happy new year :)
