it's officially xmas again! funny how i always feel surprised that it's suddenly the actual day of x'mas before i know it, even after the anticipation from way back. unlike the past couple of years, i practically just spent the whole of xmas eve at home instead of jostling through the orchard crowds or at one of those stayovers. watched a bit of the japanese movie be with you on tv just now..a bit less cliched than crying out love, in the center of the world but nice, still. it's been a quieter x'mas eve but an enjoyable one anyway. who says x'mas must be all loud and noisy? i have absolutely no complaints watching more tv okay.

so we had our x'mas gathering on friday night at wm's house. ended up 'exchanging presents' with wk.. haha. played one game of mahjong but retreated to watch tv after dinner. a total couch potato this holiday. was commenting that we had an unusually chinesey x'mas dinner of takeaway tze char. i guess i was a bit of a wet blanket by not staying over also. anyway it was a cosy affair. i guess x'mas just wouldn't be quite the same without a gathering with these guys.
