and in typical procrastinating fashion, i did not swim this weekend. just a usual narrative post..

dan ryan's was a pretty nice place to have our send-off dinner last friday for jov, who's spending the next 4 months in china. now it's one less person for outings with the jc peeps. just that i couldn't really finish the fisherman's platter i ordered. should've heeded the 'all servings are in american portions' warning on the menu. suddenly i'm reminded me of the 30-inch pizza incident at modestos.

guess going to ai qin hai was the other recent main highlight. it's shifted since the last time i went which was more than 2 years back. the first half of the night was rather boring as the power kept tripping in the middle of the songs. but for the second half slot there was cai li lian! she's just so bubbly and she can really sing. it would really be interesting if she sang cyndi wang's honey, which zf tried to dedicate. there was also this other guy singer whom i saw the other time i was there. too bad i can't make it for the xinyao festival thing that they were promoting and which ang bk has been bugging me to go.

currently rewatching the japanese drama series g.t.o., one of my all-time favourites. there is something about inspirational-teacher dramas that gets me hopelessly hooked. thank you bittorent.
